CODE OF ETHICS IN ELECTRONIC COMMERCE
Chapter I. General Provisions
Article 1. Purpose
This Code of Ethics for E-commerce establishes the values and principles that Estancias Extendidas S.A de C.V., and every affiliated provider, shall observe in activities related to electronic commerce, in order to respect and promote consumer rights, foster a culture of responsible consumption, promote the human rights of consumers, ensure ethical and responsible digital advertising, protect vulnerable groups, and encourage self-regulation. This Code of Ethics for E-commerce sets forth the minimum standards—illustrative but not exhaustive—for both commercial activities carried out through digital electronic media and the mechanisms for verifying compliance.
Article 2. Scope of Application
The Code of Ethics for E-commerce is voluntarily adopted and applicable to Extended Suites in transactions conducted through the use of digital electronic media within the national territory. Extended Suites commits to ensuring that all its e-commerce activities comply with the principles established in this Code. Companies that already have their own code of ethics in this matter may express their acknowledgment of this code and use it as a reference to match or expand upon it. This Code of Ethics for E-commerce shall not be applicable to incidents or technical failures arising from acts of God or force majeure. Likewise, this Code shall not apply to financial service providers.
Article 3. Definitions
For the purposes of this Code of Ethics for E-commerce, the following definitions shall apply:
- I. Adolescents: Individuals between the ages of twelve and under eighteen;
- II. Code: The Code of Ethics for E-commerce;
- III. E-commerce: Any economic transaction involving the offering, marketing, or sale of goods, products, or services using digital electronic, optical, or any other technology through a digital information system;
- IV. Consumer: The natural or legal person who acquires, performs, or enjoys goods, products, or services as the final recipient. Consumer also refers to the natural or legal person who acquires, stores, uses, or consumes goods or services for the purpose of integrating them into production, transformation, marketing, or service processes for third parties, solely in the cases referred to in Articles 99 and 117 of the Federal Consumer Protection Law;
- V. Personal Data: Any information concerning an identified or identifiable natural person. A person is considered identifiable when their identity can be determined directly or indirectly through any information;
- VI. Children and Adolescents: Children are those under twelve years of age, and adolescents are individuals between twelve and under eighteen years of age. For the purposes of international treaties and the age of majority, children are those under eighteen years of age;
- VII. Provider: Estancias Extendidas S.A de C.V., (referred to in this Code as Extended Suites);
- VIII. Advertising: Any form of commercial communication carried out by a provider, comprising the entire process of creation, planning, execution, and dissemination or transmission of advertising messages for the purpose of promoting the sale or consumption of goods, products, or services;
- IX. E-commerce Platform: www.extendedsuites.com.mx;
- X. Virtual Store: A space within a website where items are offered for sale.
Chapter II. E-Commerce
Article 4. Constitutional, Conventional, and Legal Framework
Extended Suites shall act in accordance with the provisions of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States and international human rights treaties to which Mexico is a party, as well as the Federal Consumer Protection Law, and shall be guided by the Mexican E-Commerce Standard (NMX-COE-001-SCFI-2018). They shall at all times be willing to adhere to and comply with the stipulations of this Code in order to conduct themselves with respect and ethics regarding the rules governing their activities, particularly those involving conflicts with consumers.
Article 5. Availability and Collaboration with Authorities
Extended Suites will be available to collaborate when consumers are affected. They shall be responsible for the services they offer, within the scope specified in their terms and conditions, which must be clear, precise, and easily accessible.
Article 6. Identity, Payment, and Shipping or Delivery Mechanisms
Extended Suites makes at least the following available to consumers:
- a) Trade name, brand, or corporate name, physical address within the national territory, Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC), and telephone numbers or other means of contact;
- b) Information on the procedure for acquiring the good, product, or service, indicating the sections where characteristics and restrictions can be found;
- c) Information to the consumer regarding their right to revoke consent for the transaction held, without liability or justification;
- d) Mechanisms for the return, replacement, or exchange of goods, products, or services;
- e) When offering warranties, information on their duration (which cannot be less than that provided by Law or applicable legal provisions) and applicable restrictions;
- f) Resolution mechanisms for claims or clarifications, including service days and hours;
- g) Age restrictions for the use of the virtual store or e-commerce platform;
- h) The treatment that will be given to their personal data;
- i) Terms and conditions to which transactions will be subject;
- j) Easy-to-use payment and billing methods, implementing security measures proportional to the risks related to payments, including those derived from unauthorized access or use of personal data, deceptive commercial practices, and identity theft;
- k) Total costs in national currency, including VAT, cross-border taxes, and shipping costs;
- l) Proof of the commercial transaction, which must be provided to the consumer through the same medium in which the transaction was held;
- m) Means to obtain the tax receipt or proof of the commercial transaction and, if applicable, the procedure to request corrections when appropriate; and,
- n) The form of delivery, including costs, timeframes, and shipping options.
Article 7. Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions will be in Spanish and within our website www.extendedsuites.com.mx in a visible and easily accessible place for the Consumer. The terms and conditions will be applicable to all purchases and services contracted through the electronic portal www.extendedsuites.com.mx. Our e-commerce platform may provide access to hyperlinks intended to facilitate access, archiving, and printing of information to improve the experience and provide certainty to the consumer when using the site. The application of the terms and conditions shall be subject to the Federal Consumer Protection Law. Consequently, the Consumer shall enjoy all the rights recognized by Law, in addition to those granted in these terms and conditions. All rights, duties, benefits, and guarantees contained in the Federal Consumer Protection Law must be recognized and strictly applied by Extended Suites. The terms and conditions shall contain at least the following information:
- I. General or specific contracting conditions applicable in each case;
- II. Validity period of offers and promotions; and,
- III. Payment or delivery restrictions, necessary conditions for use or delivery, and cancellation penalties.
Extended Suites will provide the consumer with adequate and clear information about the different goods, products, or services, using images, audio, video, or any other tool it deems appropriate.
Chapter III. Digital Advertising
Article 8. Principle of Legality
The digital advertising managed by Extended Suites is truthful, verifiable, clear, and free of text, dialogues, sounds, images, brands, designations of origin, and other descriptions that induce or may induce error or confusion due to being deceptive or abusive. Furthermore, it adheres to applicable regulations and, specifically, respects the rights, obligations, and principles recognized by the Federal Consumer Protection Law.
Article 9. Responsible Digital Advertising
Advertising developed as part of Extended Suites' e-commerce strategy must:
- a) Be properly identifiable as such;
- b) Contain the identity of the advertiser and contact details; and,
- c) The virtual store or e-commerce platform must have a mechanism that allows the consumer to choose whether they wish to stop receiving direct commercial advertising.
Chapter IV. Data Protection
Article 10. General Principles
Extended Suites adheres to the provisions of Constitutional Article 16, which recognizes every person's right to the protection of their personal data, access, rectification, and cancellation of the same, as well as the right to object under the terms set by applicable regulations. In this sense, Extended Suites has a Privacy Notice as an accessible, secure, easy-to-understand mechanism, using simple and clear language that allows the Consumer to access all information inherent to the processing and protection of their personal data. Extended Suites includes on its platform, and throughout the purchase process, warning notices so that children and adolescents refrain from providing their personal data without the authorization of their parents or guardians, ensuring the purchase is made directly by the latter.
Furthermore, Extended Suites is obliged to verify the following:
- a) It must identify content directed solely at adults;
- b) It must not directly incite children and adolescents to purchase a good, product, or service by taking advantage of their inexperience or credulity, nor persuade them to convince their parents, guardians, or third parties to buy the products or services in question;
- c) It must not, without justified reason, expose children and adolescents to dangerous situations;
- d) It shall not publish on its websites content, statements, or visual presentations that are unlawful or could cause mental, moral, or physical harm to children and adolescents.
Chapter V. Human Rights
Article 11. Vulnerable Groups
Extended Suites commits to the respect and protection of the rights of senior citizens, children and adolescents, persons with disabilities, and indigenous people, as well as other persons subject to discrimination, resolving their conflicts or doubts in an agile manner and ensuring that advertising directed at them or to which they may have access promotes respect for dignity, equity, safety, and inclusion.
Chapter VI. Conflict Resolution
Article 12. Self-regulation and Internal Means for Conflict Resolution
Extended Suites has its own mechanisms to resolve conflicts with consumers when there is any failure to comply with the obligations established in the Federal Consumer Protection Law, the Mexican E-Commerce Standard (NMX-COE-001-SCFI-2018), and this Code. These mechanisms are described in points 6 (Resolution mechanisms for claims or clarifications) and 7 (Applicable regulations and policies in case of controversy) of the Extended Suites Online Store Adhesion Contract. Self-regulation is recognized as a reliable, impartial, efficient, and secure mechanism for the resolution of conflicts related to commercial activities or practices carried out through digital electronic media.
Article 13. Alternative Means of Dispute Resolution
Extended Suites will seek to settle disputes with consumers through alternative means of dispute resolution. Mediation, conciliation, and arbitration will be essential for reaching rapid agreements, as described in point 7 (Applicable regulations and policies in case of controversy) of the Extended Suites Online Store Adhesion Contract or through the procedures established by the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO).
Article 14. Liaison with the Federal Consumer Protection Agency
Extended Suites will comply with the stipulations of the Federal Consumer Protection Law and act diligently in conciliation procedures to reach agreements for the benefit of consumers.
Article 15. Monitoring and Compliance of the Code
Extended Suites has its own mechanisms to monitor compliance with this code of ethics, as well as follow-up procedures for non-compliance through the following means:

Article 16. Commitment to Code Compliance
Extended Suites expresses its adherence to this Code and therefore commits to respecting and complying with it regarding e-commerce, advertising, data protection, and human rights. Failure to comply with this Code will result in a request for the cancellation of its adherence.
